Collection: Above and Below

This collection began with a quiet winter walk.

After a snowstorm in early January, I stepped outside and noticed something I couldn’t shake. The snow had preserved tracks across our property. Rabbit. Deer. Coyote. What I believe was opossum, with his tail dragging behind him. The prints looked so fresh it felt as though the animals had just passed through.

I found myself following their paths, wondering about their quiet movement through the night.

Above me, hawks circled. A few Canadian geese moved across the winter sky.

Standing there, I began thinking about perspective. What can be seen from above? Could they see the paths carved into the snow below?

And then my thoughts turned to something deeper. To God watching over His creation. A reminder that while we walk our own paths, we are seen. Known. Guided.

“He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.”
— Psalm 91:4

That verse stayed with me.

Out of that morning came the beginning of this collection. Above and Below.

Feathers.
Tracks in the snow.
The connection between what moves across the earth and what watches from above.

Each piece is shaped from silver, copper, and brass, inspired by that quiet walk. Some preserve tracks in metal the way the snow held them on the ground. Others reflect the sky above, and the faith that steadies us as we walk our paths.

My hope is that when you wear them, they remind you of the peace found outdoors in God’s creation, and the comfort of knowing you are never walking alone.
