A beautiful rosarita stone of deep reds, burgundy and bright orange stripes which gave me the idea of using Saturn planets along the ring band. The Saturn planets are lightly textured sterling silver with a copper ring, which mimics the orange strips within the stone. The band itself has had silver dust fused onto it which creates an amazing organic texture.
Stone setting: 1-1/2 inches x 5/8-inch
Ring back: 1/4-inch

"Rosarita is a unique material, which derives its exceptionally rich, red color from the process of gold refining. It is a unique by-product of the 1960s and 1970s gold refining processes. Alaskan beach sand was smelted for its gold content and the slag by-product was Rosarita, which is essentially a gold-infused glass."
